Alexander’s third album for solo piano, Journey To Nidaros, was written during a 650km pilgrimage across Norway. Originally planned as a break from his musical work, he ended up playing over twenty pianos on his travels from Oslo to Trondheim.

The music that emerged during this time is a personal insight into the richness of his pilgrimage experience. Writing the music down on his return home, he released the collection in 2018.

The album went to No.1 in the UK Specialist Classical Charts and No.5 on the ClassicFM chart. It was featured on BBC Radio 4’s Ramblings, when Alexander went for a walk with Clare Balding in the Cairngorms National Park, talking about Norway and the inspiration behind the music.
